Planning the perfect outdoor wedding ceremony is undoubtedly exciting, but the thought of facing bad weather can feel overwhelming. The good news is that with a few proactive steps, you can face any weather challenge head-on. By preparing in advance, you can turn a potential light rain or wind into an unforgettable backdrop for your special day. Weather is the one thing that we CANNOT control, but we will navigate it in the best way we know and make the best of it 😊Here’s a detailed guide to help you prepare for an outdoor ceremony, ensuring that the memory of your wedding day remains bright, no matter what comes your way.
Monitoring Weather Forecasts Early
Staying informed about the weather is the cornerstone of your planning. Communicate your concerns with the coordinator, Kaley, and begin monitoring forecasts at least a week before your big day. Utilize reliable weather apps and websites for accurate updates. This will help you spot any potential issues early. Â
If rain is in the forecast, that's totally okay! We can work around it and ensure that your special day is still perfect! The couple, Kaley, and the venue team, will come together to make the decision the day of or the day before the wedding on if the ceremony can still be held outdoors or if we need to resort to 'Plan B: The Pavilion in the Pines'.
Have a Backup Plan Ready
A solid backup plan - 'Plan B: The Pavilion in the Pines' is essential for any outdoor wedding. Luckily, we have a 7,200 sq ft fully-sheltered Pavilion with a 48' x 100' open space to host your wedding ceremony and can easily accommodate guests.
A traditional ceremony is generally a max of 30 minutes. If there is a light rain at the time of your ceremony, we can totally still make it work with a quick ceremony & providing all guests & wedding party our beautiful and chic clear umbrellas! They look amazing in the pines and gives it a fairy tale vibe with a romantic atmosphere. Consider embracing it and using it to enhance your experience! Adding a fun element can transform an uncertain situation into a memorable moment.
If there is heavy rain or storms, and there is no possible way that we can have the ceremony outdoors, we will just simply create a beautiful ceremony space under our fully-sheltered Pavilion.
We will create an aisle, help move your decorations, arbor, and ceremony items to shelter, and ensure that your special day is still special and perfect in every way! After all, rain on your wedding day is actually GOOD LUCK!
Communicate with Guests
Effective communication with your guests is crucial. Use your wedding website, email updates, or social media to keep everyone in the loop. If you decide to move the ceremony under the Pavilion, let them know as soon as possible. Your venue team will help direct guests to the Pavilion upon their arrival!
Stylish Protective Gear
Incorporate stylish protective gear into your wedding aesthetics. A cozy shawl or a fashionable raincoat can not only keep you warm but also enhance your overall look.
Footwear matters too! Opt for elegant, waterproof shoes that can keep your feet dry. Consider choosing boots or shoes with good traction, especially if the ground may be slippery from rain. This will help you navigate beautifully, even under less favorable conditions.
Provide Extras for Your Guests
Thoughtful extras can greatly enhance your guests' experience. If the weather is chilly, consider providing blankets to keep them warm. These small touches show you care about their comfort. This shows that a little consideration goes a long way... After all, they are there for you and your groom to celebrate your big day!
Navigating the Unexpected
Bad weather can be daunting for couples planning an outdoor ceremony, but with thorough preparation and an open mindset, you can transform potential hurdles into cherished memories. By actively monitoring forecasts, having a well-defined backup plan, and welcoming whatever nature sends your way, you can ensure that your wedding day is filled with love, joy, and beautiful moments. Ultimately, your celebration is about the love you share; it's that love that makes your day unforgettable, no matter the weather conditions! We can't wait to celebrate with you at Brentwood Farms!!!
